Barnz is a trained shipwright, aerial rigger, tentmaker, costume and clothes designer and performer. Barnz has an excellent understanding of three- dimensional design, which has led to him creating unique aerial systems and props.

Since 1998 he has been combining traditional ship-rigging and racing-dinghy rigging techniques in stunt shows with climbers and circus performers. Barnz has pioneered performance-based rigging and human counterweighting. Barnz has created acts for No Fit State Circus, Cirque Bijou as well as providing mentoring, coaching and co-collaboration for anybody not quite as obsessed with pulleys as he is!
